Chris Boot is an independent photography editor based in London. Prior to working as Executive Director of the not-for-profit publisher Aperture, New York, between 2011 and 2021, he set up and ran his own publishing house, Chris Boot Ltd, publishing over 50 photobooks including the ICP Infinity award-winning Lodz Ghetto Album (2004) and Things as They Are: Photojournalism in Context Since 1955 (2005). His career in photography began in community activism and education, and includes working as Director of Magnum Photos in London and New York. He is the author and editor of Magnum Stories (Phaidon, 2004).
